Stargazers in the Northern Hemisphere can look forward to 2012's first meteor shower which is set to peak at 2:30 a.m. EST on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Forecasters expect the shower to peak around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
Astronomers are predicting a brief two hour meteor shower Wednesday morning, between 3:00 and 5:00 am Central Time. The Quandrantids, or "Quads" as most people call them, are named for an old constellation called Quadrans Muralis.
